Part of the Being Perfected in Spiritual Warfare

View the full study outline here: Learning the Weapons of Our Warfare in Christ

As we wrap-up our “Being Perfected in Spiritual Warfare” study, the goal is not that you would feel finished with spiritual warfare, but that you would feel more equipped, more grounded, and more aware of what God has placed in your hands. Spiritual warfare is not a special topic for a few intense Christians; it is part of everyday life for every believer. Yet you are not called to live in fear or obsession about the enemy. You are called to live in confidence in Christ and using the weapons God has provided.

Throughout this series, we have walked through eighteen different “weapons”, biblical ways God strengthens, protects, and empowers His people in the battle. Each one is simple, yet powerful when used in faith. Together, they form a picture of how we approach being perfected in spiritual warfare: not perfect in performance, but growing up in Christ, learning to respond to pressure with His truth, His presence, and His power.

Being perfected, not being perfect

As with all of my studies on this blog, the title of this study, “Being Perfected in Spiritual Warfare”, speaks of a process. You are not expected to master all nineteen weapons overnight. God is patient, allow and invite Him to walk with you on this journey. Being perfected means being formed, shaped, and strengthened over time. There will be days when you feel strong and days when you feel weak. Both are part of the journey.

Spiritual warfare, at its core, is about standing firm in Christ. You are fighting from victory, not for it (1 Corinthians 15:57). Remember, Jesus has already triumphed over the enemy through the cross and resurrection. Your role, as a disciple of Christ, is to learn how to live in that victory, to resist lies, to trust His Word, and to use the weapons He has given you. When you stumble, you come back to Him. When you feel overwhelmed, you lean harder on His grace.

Connecting this series to our Series, Being Perfected in Prayer

If you’ve journeyed through this “Being Perfected in Spiritual Warfare” series, you may also be walking through, or ready to explore, the Being Perfected in Prayer series on the eight prayer watches. Understanding the watches helps you recognize when God is inviting you to stand as a watchman; understanding your weapons helps you know how to stand when you get there (Ephesians 6:18). As you grow more knowledgeable about prayer, fasting, the Word, praise, and the other weapons of warfare, your time in each watch becomes more focused and effective. You are not just awake and alert; you are equipped.

Whether you are contending for breakthrough in the night watch, interceding during early morning hours, or covering your family and community in the midday, these weapons give you biblical, practical ways to respond to what the Holy Spirit shows you. The more you understand and use your God-given weapons, the more fruitful your watchman calling and your prayer times will become (Habakkuk 2:1, Isaiah 62:6–7).

Encouragement to keep going

As this series wraps up, consider which weapons God has highlighted most strongly for you. Maybe prayer and praise have come alive in a new way. Perhaps you feel drawn to grow in the Word, in faith, or in praying in the Spirit. Ask the Lord which two or three He wants you to focus on in this next season. You do not need to try everything at once. Let Him lead you step by step.

Remember: you are not alone in the battle. The Holy Spirit lives in you, Jesus intercedes for you, angels serve God’s purposes on your behalf, and the family of God stands alongside you (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 1:14). When spiritual pressure rises, you can reach for the weapons you have learned, but more importantly, you can reach for the One who gave them.

A brief review of the weapons

Here is a brief reminder of the weapons we have explored, each one pointing back to Jesus and His victory:

  • Prayer – Direct communication with God that brings your battles into His presence and releases His peace and intervention (James 5:16, Philippians 4:6–7).
  • Fasting – Humbling your heart and denying your flesh to seek God more deeply, sharpening spiritual sensitivity and making room for breakthrough (Isaiah 58:6, Mark 9:29).
  • Faith – Trusting God’s Word above your feelings and circumstances, lifting up the shield that overcomes the world and extinguishes the enemy’s darts (1 John 5:4, Hebrews 11:6).
  • The Blood of Jesus – The finished work of Christ that brings forgiveness, freedom, and protection, silencing accusation and breaking darkness’ claim (Revelation 12:11, Colossians 1:13–14).
  • Money – Finances surrendered to God, used in stewardship and generosity to break fear and greed and advance His Kingdom purposes (Proverbs 3:9–10, Ecclesiastes 7:12).
  • Wisdom – God’s strategy and discernment that helps you avoid traps, choose battles wisely, and walk in understanding instead of confusion (James 1:5, Ecclesiastes 9:13–18).
  • The Word of God – The living, active sword of the Spirit that exposes lies, builds faith, and gives you truth to stand and speak in every battle (Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17).
  • The Person and Name of Jesus – Jesus Himself as your victory, and His name as your banner and authority over every power of darkness (1 John 4:4, Philippians 2:9–11).
  • The Anointing and Prophetic – The empowering presence of the Holy Spirit and His prophetic voice that break yokes, bring direction, and release God’s heart into situations (Isaiah 10:27, Acts 10:38, Ezekiel 37:4–10).
  • Praying in the Spirit – Spirit-led prayer that strengthens your inner man and aligns your intercession with God’s will when you don’t know what to pray (Jude 20, Romans 8:26–27).
  • Our Spoken Words – Speech surrendered to God that agrees with His truth, builds others up, and resists the enemy’s lies (Proverbs 18:21, Mark 16:15).
  • The Ministry of Angels – God’s use of His ministering spirits to guard, strengthen, and serve those who inherit salvation, as part of His protective care (Hebrews 1:14, Psalm 91:11).
  • Praise – Joyful, thankful worship that lifts your eyes to God, shifts atmospheres, and often precedes breakthrough in battle (Psalm 149:5–9, 2 Chronicles 20:21–22).
  • Dance – Physical expression of joy and victory before the Lord, celebrating His deliverance and turning sorrow into rejoicing (Exodus 15:20–21, Psalm 149:3).
  • Clapping – Simple, embodied “amen” that expresses agreement, joy, and triumph in response to God’s kingship and His word (Psalm 47:1, Ezekiel 6:11).
  • Stomping/Marching – Movement that symbolizes obedience, unity, and taking ground as you walk out God’s instructions and stand firmly on His promises (Joshua 6:1–21, Ephesians 6:13).
  • Shouting – Vocal declarations of praise and faith that give your trust in God a voice and often accompany moments of breakthrough (Joshua 6:20, Psalm 47:1).
  • Music – Worshipful sound that calms hearts, invites God’s presence, and prepares you to hear His voice and receive His comfort and direction (1 Samuel 16:23, 2 Kings 3:15).

Each of these weapons is ultimately about relationship with God. They are not tools to manipulate Him, but ways to respond to Him. As you use them, you are learning to draw near, to trust, to obey, and to stand in what Jesus has already done.

Reflection: carrying this series into your daily life

Take a moment to ask yourself, “Which weapon from this series do I sense God inviting me to grow in first?” Prayer, praise, the Word, faith, or another one? You might write that down and ask Him for one simple way to practice it in your everyday life this week.

A final prayer for this journey

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for every weapon of spiritual warfare You have placed in my hands. Thank You for prayer, fasting, faith, the blood of Jesus, and all the ways You strengthen and protect me. Thank You that I am not fighting alone, but with Your Word, Your Spirit, Your presence, and the victory of Christ. As I move forward from this study, continue to perfect me in spiritual warfare. Teach me how to use these weapons with humility, wisdom, and love. Help me to keep my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, and to stand firm in the victory He has already won. In Jesus’ name, amen.
